Now when you're enjoying a revitalised Oxford Street in a few years' time, you'll be able to pat yourself on the back. You helped make it happen!
But if you're super keen, there's even more you can do!
Share with friends and family
Larger numbers show politicans the community really wants this to happen, so asking others to sign helps a lot!
If you see a "share" button at the top of the page, you can hit that.
If not, you can copy and send this link: www.oxfordstreet.bike
Write to your local politician
You can write to your local politician, who will be looking at community sentiment to see whether or not they support the cycleway.
Even a quick email briefly explaining why you support the cycleway will do wonders.
As the cycleway is being proposed by the state government, your state MP will be the best person to contact. Here are some state MPs for nearby electorates:
- Sydney − Alex Greenwich
- Vaucluse − Kellie Sloane
- Coogee − Marjorie O'Neil
- Newtown − Jenny Leong
- Heffron − Ron Honeig
- If you live elsewhere − find your state MP here.
Not sure which state electorate you live in? Pop your address into the NSW Electoral Commission website to find out.
BIKEast is a volunteer group that advocates for cycleways in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, including this one!
If you want to help out with their advocacy efforts, come along to one of their meetings — there's no commitment required.
They hold meetings on the first Tuesday of every month, which can be found on the Meetup group.
